The Newton Dept of Arts and Culture and Mayor Marc Laredo invite you to the grand opening of the Linda Plaut Arts and Culture Center at Brigham House on Sunday, June 14 at 1:00 PM at Brigham House (40 Hartford St, Newton Highlands). There will be a ribbon cutting, beverages, and dessert.
Linda Plaut served as the Director of the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs for more than four decades and created numerous city arts and culture programs, including the Festival of the Arts, Performances in the Park, Halloween Window Painting, and Time for Partners. She also organized and ran innumerable citywide festivals, fairs, art shows, and community events.
Linda is pictured above with former mayor Ted Mann and legendary jazz trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie at the City’s 1988 Tricentennial, when Gillespie performed a free concert on the football field of Newton North High School.
Please Note: You cannot park in the Newton Highlands parking lot because of Newton Highlands Village Day. Please park on a side street.
