Parks, Recreation & Culture is partnering with the American Red Cross during February and April vacation weeks for lifeguard training courses to provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies in both shallow water and deeper water and to provide professional-level care until emergency medical services (EMS) professionals take over. Participants must be at least 15 years old to enroll and must be able to pass a prerequisite swimming skills evaluation during the first class. Registration is now open for February and April classes.
