NNHS students seek to conduct free home-energy assessments for 100 households

A group of Newton North HS students have formed Newton Youth Energizers to encourage more climate-friendly behavior and household technology. As part of Mass Energize’s Youth Climate Solutions Challenge, the team seeks to perform home-energy assessments for 100 Newton households by the end of April. To schedule a free Home-Energy Assessment, complete this form or email [email protected]

The Newton Youth Energizers have been selected to compete in this challenge against 12 other high school teams in Massachusetts. The Home-Energy Assessments they conduct are beneficial for both lowering utility costs and reducing the carbon emissions of homes by:

  • Providing insulation that maximizes heating and cooling
  • Checking for up-to-date boilers and burners
  • Assessing for air sealing leaks

All people who complete the form to schedule a Home-Energy Assessment — and/or refer a friend — during the month of February will be entered automatically into a raffle for a $25 Cabot’s Ice Cream & Restaurant gift card!
