The Hyde Community Center screens School of Rock on the Hyde Bandstand at Hyde Community Center (90 Lincoln St, Newton Highlands) on Friday, September 18 from 8PM – 10PM.
This event has been moved later by one week to accommodate the start of Rosh Hashanah and Newton’s September 11 Observance.
Jack Black stars as struggling rock guitarist Dewey Finn, who is fired from his band and subsequently works as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. After witnessing the musical talent of the students, Dewey forms a band of fifth-graders to attempt to win the upcoming Battle of the Bands and use his winnings to pay his rent.
