Green Newton invites Newton families to Solar Oven S’mores at Lincoln-Eliot School (150 Jackson Rd, Nonantum), part of the Picnic & Play in the Park series, on Wednesday, July 15 from 10:30AM – 12:30PM.
Newton families are invited to a hands-on sustainability activity this summer, part of the City’s Picnic & Play in the Park series. The event is sponsored by Green Newton and Newton Parks, Recreation & Culture.
The series begins with Solar Oven S’mores, where children will decorate and build solar ovens, then use the power of the sun to make s’mores. While the ovens heat up, families can enjoy clean-energy-themed field games and parents can talk with Green Newton’s Energy Advocate about ways to make their homes more energy-efficient.
The event is free, family-friendly, and includes a snack.
