Join the Boston Chamber Symphony for a magical evening of masterworks by Brahms, Sibelius, Reinecke, and Mendelssohn on Saturday, May 9 at 7:30PM at Grace Episcopal Church (76 Eldredge St, Newton Corner).
Acclaimed soloist Seth Morris, Principal Flute of the Metropolitan Opera, performs Reinecke’s lyrical Flute Concerto, a Romantic-era showpiece celebrated for its expressive melodies and virtuosity. The program also showcases Mendelssohn’s radiant Symphony No. 4 (“Italian”), inspired by the composer’s travels in Italy, and two beloved orchestral dances, Brahms’s spirited Hungarian Dance No. 1 and Sibelius’s haunting Valse Triste.
Music Director Avlana Eisenberg will conduct, and a reception with the performers will follow the concert.
