On Sunday, March 29 at 2PM, the Newton Free Library (330 Homer Street, Newton Centre) presents Discovering the Chinese Hammered Dulcimer. Join Shirley Wong of Boston Dulcimer and Drums for a concert of music on the Chinese hammered dulcimer. This program will feature both musical performances and an exploration of the history of the instrument.
Shirley Wong is a West Newton–based musician and educator specializing in the Chinese hammered dulcimer and traditional percussion. She is the founder of Boston Dulcimer and Drums, where she teaches students of all ages and brings Chinese music to libraries, schools, and community spaces throughout Greater Boston.
