As part of its Spring Guided Walk Series, Newton Conservators is hosting a walk about ferns in Hammond Woods on Sunday, May 24, from 10AM to 12PM. Meet at the Hammond Pond parking lot, off Hammond Pond Parkway, near the Street at Chestnut Hill shops. In case of rain, the event will be rescheduled to Sunday, May 31, from 10AM to 12PM.
Ellen and Jim Meadors, plant enthusiasts with a special interest inferns, will show fellow fern lovers how to identify the most common species in the Boston region. The Meadors have led numerous fern and wildflower walks in their hometown of Lincoln.
