The Sustainability Awareness Scavenger Hunt, May 1 – Jun. 30

If you have young children, or just want to experience nature in your city, scan the QR code (below), enter the URL into your browser (https://join.goosechase.com/304324b3-a900-4900-988a-

) or type the join code (PWMGQX)into the Goosechase app, and start your hunt! The scavenger hunt will take place from Friday, May 1 at 9AM – Tuesday, June 30 at 9PM.

All elementary schoolers (K-5) are eligible to scavenge. Stops will include parks, sustainability shops, the Resource Recovery Center, and more.

Once you join the scavenger hunt, tasks ranging from drawing bugs to stargazing will pop up. Once you complete a task, you will be rewarded with varying quantities of points. Try to complete them all!

The Sustainability Awareness Scavenger Hunt will encourage elementary school children to engage with, appreciate, and (ultimately) protect the environment. Exposure to nature has been proven to help children understand the importance of sustainability, but most Newton children do not have sufficient time in nature to understand the value of the natural world and advocate for protecting it.
