Arcadis will host a public-information drop-in session in the Pellegrini Park Gym (11 Hawthorn Street) on Sunday, April 26, from 1PM-3 PM regarding its environmental assessment activities in Nonantum including drilling and testing for TCE in groundwater. Trichlorcethylene (TCE) is a colorless, volatile, and toxic chemical that has been used as a solvent and degreaser in many industrial applications. Current drilling is in response to TCE being detected in the area of Green and Cook Streets. Arcadis is conducting the project under contract with the City of Newton.
