In my opinion, Ms. Leary’s transgression as detailed in your article, After Lawn vs. Leary debate, Leary apologizes for remarks about Nonantum, goes beyond some intemperate and “mistaken” pronouncement. No amount of apology or backpedaling erases the indelible impression left by her remarks: that an elected official should serve only those who voted for her and not all of the people in the community regardless of their party affiliation or lack thereof.
