Aston Magna presents Gems from 17th Century Venice at The Allen Center (35 Webster Street, West Newton), on Thursday, August 6 at 7PM.

Aston Magna, America’s longest-running festival of music on period instruments, now in its 53rd season, brings the music of Monteverdi, Salamone Rossi, and Barbara Strozzi, with:

  • Sophie Michaux, mezzo-soprano
  • Catherine Liddell, theorbo
  • Laura Jeppesen, viola da gamba
  • Daniel Stepner and Julie Leven, baroque violins

Tickets are $50 in advance, $60 day of show; $15 under 30 with ID; full-time students (with ID) and children free; and $2 for EBT, WIC & ConnectorCare cardholders through Card to Culture. Details and tickets are available at the link above.
