Join the Harmony Foundation, its event partners and sponsors, and other community members, Monday, January 19 at 9AM at First Unitarian Universalist Society in Newton (1326 Washington Street, West Newton) for reflection, music, student voices, children’s programming with Story Starters, followed by a reception and community resource fair. This year’s program theme will be: “The Courage to Love Turns the Tides of Hate” as inspired by the works of Martin Luther King, Jr. This year’s Speaker will be Reverend Dr. Eric Jackson.
An extensive food drive effort spearheaded by the Rotary Club of Newton and Village Bank is being undertaken this year in the form of the The Setti D. Warren Food Drive & MLK Community Giving Initiative. The week prior to the event (Jan. 12-16), Village Bank will provide food collection boxes at each of its branches. Boxes will also be placed at City Hall, The Police and Fire Headquarters, and the Scandinavian Living Center.
