On Thursday, January 22 from 7-9PM Christie Scheele will demonstrate painting with cold wax on Zoom.
She will begin with an assessment of her reference photo and then move on to color mixing and critiquing the palette followed by brush technique, laying the paint in on top of the dark ground. Over the two hours, the composition will coalesce while Christie discusses color, edge, shape, and directionality, content, and mood.
Christie Scheele began painting her atmospheric, minimalist landscapes just before moving to the Catskills from New York City in 1990. She is an exhibiting artist of over forty years in multiple galleries nationwide. Scheele’s work is also included in private and public collections nationwide and internationally.
All Newton Art Association artist demos are free and open to the public.
