Newton Department of Arts and Culture: Call for Artists – exhibit your work at City Hall, deadline May 22

The Newton Department of Arts and Culture invites artists to submit original artwork for exhibition in the City Hall Gallery Program from Monday, April 27 through Friday, May 22. Selected artists will have the opportunity to contribute to the cultural vibrancy of Newton by sharing their creativity in Newton’s majestic City Hall.

Exhibits at City Hall run for three months, and artwork is expected to remain on display for the entire three-month period. (Please note: This is a change from the current one-month rotating schedule.)

The upcoming Call for Art will cover the exhibition period that runs from July 1 through September 30, 2026.

Two-dimensional artwork in all media forms is welcome. Artwork must adhere to the City Hall Gallery Policy, be ready to hang, and be compatible with the City Hall hanging system.

Emerging and established artists

Local and regional artists (priority given to Newton-based artists)

Individual artists or small group exhibitions

Important Dates
Call opens: Monday, April 27
Application deadline: Friday, May 22
Notifications sent: Monday, June 8
Exhibition dates: July 1 – September 30
