Newton Free Library and Newton Community Farm present Eating in Season: Summer Bounty at Newton Community Farm at Newton Community Farm (303 Nahanton St, Oak Hill) on Tuesday, August 11 at 7PM.
Join Harry Pesce, a member of the farm crew at Newton Community Farm, to learn which vegetables are grown in the summer – and how to turn them into simple, delicious meals.
At this hands-on workshop, held at the Farm, you’ll:
- Learn what seasonal eating means and how it changes throughout the year
- Sample fresh summer vegetables straight from the farm
- Learn to make two easy seasonal recipes
- Take home a list of library resources to keep eating seasonally all year long
Harry has cooked in kitchens like Woods Hill Table and Forage, and previously managed the award-winning Gracenote Coffee Roasters. He knows good food and the Farm – and he’s excited to share both with you.
About the Farm: Newton Community Farm grows fresh produce on Newton’s last working farm, while engaging the community through sustainable agriculture and educational programs. They run a farm stand on Winchester Street and attend the Newton Farmers’ Market on Saturdays.
