Bay Colony Brass: Springtime Salmagundi, May 9

Music director Philip Sanborn leads Newton’s 20-member Bay Colony Brass in Springtime Salmagundi on Saturday, May 9 at 7:30PM at the Second Church in Newton (60 Highland St, West Newton).

The free, family-friendly concert features the world premiere of American composer Carson Cooman’s Suncatchers: Pageant in Four Scenes for Two Horns and Brass Ensemble with soloists Hazel Dean Davis and Nick Auer. The concert also includes James Marks’ Music for Brass and Timpani, Chris Hazell’s Three Brass Cats, and Alfred Reed’s masterful Othello.

Parking is available adjacent to the building at Second Church in Newton. Parking lots are accessible from either Highland Street or Chestnut Street. Access for those with limited mobility is available immediately uphill from the sanctuary via the side driveway or drive-up entrance through the main doors to the sanctuary.
