It’s been four years since the Newton Upper Falls Walk Through Time. The Upper Falls community will reprise this experience on Sunday, June 7 from 1-3PM. Meet at Little Luke’s Cafe (1225 Chestnut St, Newton Upper Falls). Rain date is Saturday June 13 from 1-3PM.
The walking loop will cover various parts of the village, generally from Pettee Square to Hemlock Gorge and back again. Volunteers at fixed locations will give a short spiel (usually written by the volunteer) on the history of the location.
In 2022, the one mile self-paced tour was narrated by over a dozen different voices. The tour covered eras from 10,000 BC (glacial pothole on Sullivan Ave) to 2522 AD (alien invasion on Indiana Terrace).
Approximately 300+ guests participated in 2022. If you wish to volunteer as a guide, please send an email to [email protected]
The map below is from the 2022 handout, and the route in June 2026 will be similar. The route is subject to small changes and last-minute additions depending on the volunteers. Final maps for 2026 will be printed the day before.
