The Cooper Center invites older adults to try Strength Building: Strong Muscles, Strong Bones at 345 Walnut St, Newtonville on Thursday, July 2 from 12:30 – 1:30 PM, led by Katie Britton.
Build strong muscles and bones through strength training! This class will focus on free weight and body weight exercises designed to improve muscle tone and bone strength, which research shows are important for long-term health post menopause and into older adulthood. Each class will include a full body strength training workout in a fun, relaxed, and welcoming environment. Participants should be comfortable getting up and down from the floor.
Katie Britton has been teaching group exercise classes for over 12 years, including spinning, strength training, and cardio. Katie also leads the YMCA’s Livestrong program for cancer survivors and has significant experience working with older adults. She brings her social work background to group exercise to lead classes that are engaging, welcoming and challenging for all levels and abilities.
