On Sunday, September 21 at 2PM, the Newton Free Library will host Leaves, Lyrics, and Emotions: Song Compositions of Tagore.
The first Nobel Laureate poet of Asia, Rabindranath Tagore composed songs about the unique connection of human spirits with nature and the universe. Vocalist Maitreyee Chakraborty will present songs on this subject with explanations in English. English supertitles will show on screen. She will be joined by Mona Roy on harmonium, Koushik Chakraborty on tabla, Debadeep Bhattacharya on guitar, and student vocalist Mithi Nag.
