Board and Commission Meetings – Week of 1/18/2026

Parks & Recreation Commission Signs & Naming Committee will meet in person (City Hall, Room 211) on Tuesday, January 20 at 10AM. The agenda includes the following items:

  • Continue discussion of park naming

Board of License Commissioners will meet virtually (Zoom link) on Tuesday, January 20 at 7:30PM. The agenda includes the following items:

  • Approval of the December 16, 2025 meeting minutes and December 26, 2025 special meeting minutes
  • Requests for One-Day temporary wine and malt licenses:
    • Reception on Sunday, March 8 from 6-8PM at Church of the Redeemer, 379 Hammond Street
    • Figure drawing classes on Friday, Feb. 13 and Friday, March13 (with rain date of Saturday, March 14) from 6:30 – 9:30PM at New Art Center, 61 Washington Park
  • Change of hours for Chipotle Mexican Grill #4181, 300 Needham Street from Mon-Sun 11AM-10PM to Mon-Sun 10:45AM-11PM.
  • Change of DBA from Ninebark to Mexicana Grill & Cantina at 1391 Washington Street
  • Change of officers/directors/LLC managers and change to on-site manager at Star Market, 1 Boylston Street adding Robert Larson as President and Marilyn Beardsley as Secretary and new on-site manager Palavi Mannan
  • Request for a new common victualler license for C and N Pizza, 437 Centre Street. Hours will be Mon-Sun 8AM – 10PM.
  • Requests for new common victualler and annual entertainment license:
    • Amarin of Thailand, 313 Walnut Street. Hours will be Mon-Sat 11:30AM-9PM and Sun 12PM-9PM.
    • Ding’s Kitchen, 10 Langley Road. Hours will be Mon-Sun 11AM-11PM.
  • Request for new wine and malt restaurant and new common victualler licenses for Grape Leaf, 6 Lincoln Street. There will be 14 seats and 10 seats on city property. Hours will be Mon -Thurs 11 – 8PM, Fri-Sat 11 – 9PM, and Sun 11-6PM.
  • Request for new all alcohol club, new common victualler license and annual entertainment licenses for Newton/Brookline Elk Lodge #1327, 429 Centre Street. There will be 463 seats. Hours will be Mon-Sat 8AM-1AM, Sunday 11-1AM.
  • Request to transfer of all alcohol package store license from Gordon’s Fine Wines & Liquors to Newtonville Wines & Spirits, 31 Austin Street.
  • Correction to date on the 2026 schedule of public hearings from Monday, November 16 to Tuesday, November 17.

Board of Assessors will meet in person (City Hall, Room 108) on Wednesday, January 21 at 9AM. The agenda includes the following items:

  • Approval of December 2025 Exemption and Abatement Reports
