As part of its Spring Guided Walk Series, Newton Conservators is hosting a tour of Cold Spring Park led by Friends of Cold Spring Park president Alan Nogee on Saturday, May 16, from 10AM to 12 noon. Meet at the kiosk at the far-left end of the park entrance on Beacon Street. In case of rain, the event will be rescheduled to Saturday, May 23, from 1PM to 3PM (note later time).
Alan, also a Newton Conservators director, will discuss how the woodland haven’s different habitats create a wildlife refuge, why its ability to continue supporting wildlife is at risk, and what citizens can do about it. Terrain is mostly flat.
