Traffic Council Report – 2/26/2026

The Traffic Council met on Thursday, February 26. See the report and meeting video.

Approved All items may be appealed through the close of business on March 18, 2026.

  • Parking prohibited on the east side of Holly Road from Beacon Street (5-0) to a point 160 feet northerly
  • Stop sign at Paulson Road at Beacon Street, southbound (5-0). Across from the Zervas School.
  • Stop signs at Winona Street at Ware Road southbound, and Regina Road at Ware Road northbound
  • Stop sign at Harrison Street at Lincoln Street, southbound (5-0). A 4-way intersection, currently with no stop signs.
  • Accessible parking space maintained and access ramp removed (4-0-1, Koses not voting) on Homer Street near the Newton Free Library. The ramp does not meet ADA requirements.
  • Reduction of public parking spaces in the Waltham Street Municipal Parking Lot (4-0-1, Koses not voting) by one space that is not accessible due to the installation of a new gate and control panel.

Denied

  • Stop sign at Ruthven Road (3-1-1, Koses opposed, Codd abstained) at Park Street. A resident’s request, opposed by three other residents via email.
  • Stop sign at Ruthven Road (3-1-1, Koses opposed, Codd abstained) at Waverley Avenue
