Newton people in the news…

Audrey Welstead (NNHS ’26) has received the Emerging Scholar Award from the MassCPAs Educational Foundation’s 2026 Scholarship Program. She is one of 50 students in Massachusetts selected this year to receive scholarships to inspire and support the next generation of CPAs in Massachusetts. Welstead is also a Mass CPAs High School Student Ambassador.

Emma Symonds has graduated from Bucknell University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.

Caleb Hong has been named to the Dean’s List at Bucknell University for the Spring semester.

Ava Bistoff, Julia Conn, Elizabeth Cosgrove, Anna DiSciullo, Taylor Frohn, and David Grusby have been named to the Dean’s List at Fairfield University for the Spring semester.

Maxwell Amster, Samuel Chase (with honors), Jonathan Eilon, Charlotte McBride, Celine Pechyoni, and Elizabeth Seriy have been named to the Dean’s List at Quinnipiac University for the Spring semester.

Clare Park (1st Grade) and Joanne Ting (Kindergarten) performed as invited guest soloists with the Sempre Musick Orchestra at the Orchestra’s Performance Competition on June 6 at the West Parish Church in Andover, MA. Their teacher, Jia Shi, noted that “despite their young age, Clare and Joanne exuded confidence, and their musical expressions were remarkably mature, drawing enthusiastic applause.”
