Newton people in the news…

Rabbi Beth Naditch, Hebrew SeniorLife’s Director of Clinical Pastoral Education, has received an honorary doctorate from the Jewish Theological Seminary, celebrating her 27 years in the rabbinate. The award notes her tenure as defined by “accompaniment, connection, and teaching” with “as much care and attention to the people-as-text as …to sacred texts and narrative,” … whether people’s stories are told in words, in silences, in behaviors, or in the holding of a hand.”

Greg Reibman, President & CEO of the Charles River Regional Chamber (CRRC), will receive the Community Engagement award from the Citizens’ Housing & Planning Association (CHAPA) at the association’s annual dinner on June 4. CHAPA notes that in his leadership of the CRRC, he “has been a consistent and outspoken advocate for housing production, economic development, DEI, small-business support, and workforce issues across Greater Boston’s inner western suburbs and Eastern Massachusetts.”

Christina An has been appointed Executive Director of the New Art Center. She has more than two decades of experience in arts education, museums, and nonprofit leadership, most recently as Assistant
Director for Education & Engagement at the Cantor Art Gallery. She currently serves as District Chair for Creative Arts & Sciences for Newton Public Schools. New Art Center Board President Robin Hicks said, “Christina is a thoughtful and forward-looking leader who understands the essential role the New Art Center plays in fostering creativity, connection, and belonging.”

Luke Andrews, Leon Huang, Marisa MacDonald, Cooper Tarlie, and Hannah Tarmy have been named to the Dean’s List at the College of William & Mary for the spring 2026 semester.
