Newton Theatre Kids introduces a new Newton Theatre Kids Troupe class, meeting Wednesdays from September 9 through December 9, 2026, 1:30-3:00PM, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, DiMauro Hall (96 Otis St, Newtonville). Register here.
This performance-focused theatre class is designed exclusively for NPS students entering 4th and 5th grade with a strong interest in acting and singing. The class will culminate in a final performance — the Fall 2026 show is Hello, Dolly!
The curriculum emphasizes character development, vocal performance, stage presence, and ensemble work through structured rehearsals and guided instruction. Students will engage in acting exercises, scene work, and musical performance techniques to build confidence and expressive skills.
Although every student will get a part, role assignments will be based on audition performance and collaborative attitude. Auditions will be held on the first day of class. This class is ideal for students who are enthusiastic about performing and ready to commit to a focused environment.
