Newton Tree Conservancy: Now accepting applications for homeowners to request free tree plantings in their neighborhoods, deadline Jun. 28

Are there empty spaces on the berms in your neighborhood where street trees formerly provided shade and beauty? Would you like to work with your neighbors and the Newton Tree Conservancy to plant new trees? The Newton Tree Conservancy is now accepting applications until Sunday, June 28 for its Fall Community Tree Planting on Saturday, November 14, 2026.

The Newton Tree Conservancy plants in groups of eight or more trees where five or more homeowners who live within a few blocks of each other have one or more empty spots. Tree recipients must commit to watering the trees from mid-April through mid-November for the first two years after planting. There is no cost to homeowners as the Community Tree Planting program relies on donations and grants.

Please review the requirements and complete a neighborhood planting group application at Plant a Tree.
