Grants received…

Wonderfund, a Newton-based nonprofit serving children and youth engaged with Massachusetts’ child welfare system, has been awarded a $1,000,000 grant from the Cummings Foundation over ten years. It is one of 150 Massachusetts nonprofits receiving funding through the Cummings Foundation grants initiative totaling $35 million this year.

Newton Community Farm has been awarded a $75,000 grant from the Cummings Foundation. This year, the Cummings Foundation increased its annual grant program from $30 million to $35 million and shifted to fully unrestricted funding, allowing recipients to direct funding to where it is needed most. The foundation notes that these “changes reflect growing concerns among Greater Boston nonprofits about rising costs, increased demand for services, and sustained uncertainty around public funding.”

One Can Help, a Newton-based nonprofit supporting at-risk youth, foster children, and underserved families involved in the juvenile court and child welfare systems, has been awarded a $180,000 grant from the Cummings Foundation and a grant from the Cabot Family Charitable Trust to help continue providing urgent, individualized resources to children and families in need.
