City Council is not scheduled to meet this week.
Zoning & Planning Committee will meet in person (Room 204) and virtually (Zoom link) on Monday, June 22 at 7PM. The agenda includes the following requests:
- Discussion and amendment to Section 1.5.3 of Chapter 30, Zoning, to allow for transformers to project into the setback.
Chair’s note: Chair will entertain a motion to hold as representative from Eversource is unable to join the Committee until July 20th. - Discussion and ordinance amendment(s) to dimensional controls, aligning use and zoning, to determine alignment of dimensional controls (setbacks, height, FAR, etc) for residential developments within BU lots, with focused consideration for lots in and adjacent to residential neighborhoods
Finance Committee will meet in person (Room 211) and virtually (Zoom link) on Monday, June 22 at 7PM. The agenda includes the following requests to:
- Authorize a potential lease for purposes of third-party construction, ownership, and operation of on-site renewable solar energy generation at Burr Elementary School, 191 Pine Street
- Repurpose $150,000 and transfer $177,000 for renovations at Fire Station 2
- Transfer $1,175,000 to Newton Police Department for contractual FY27 wage increases
- Transfer $710,000 for retroactive wage adjustments
- Transfer $900,000 for improvements to roadways, sidewalks, and ramps
