Newton Community Education is proud to kick off Newton’s Juneteenth Celebration at Newton North High School (457 Walnut St, Newtonville) on Friday, June 19 with a football clinic coached by the New England Patriots rookies from 10:30AM – 12:30PM, followed by soccer and basketball clinics from 1PM-3PM.
After the clinics, head over to the Hyde Community Center (90 Lincoln Street, Newton Highlands) from 3PM-10PM for live performances, food trucks, a screening of Black Panther, and more!
Patriots Football Clinic
10:30 AM–12:30 PM | Grades 5–12 | $50
Members of the New England Patriots rookie squad will lead a non-contact football clinic featuring skills stations, drills, and photo opportunities. Drills will focus on passing skills, agility, footwork, and more.
Basketball Clinic
1:00 PM–3:00 PM | Grades 3–9 | Free (Donations Encouraged)
Meet some of our summer basketball coaches and work with them to develop ball-handling, dribbling, defending, passing, shooting, and teamwork.
Soccer Clinic
1:00 PM–3:00 PM | Grades 3–9 | Free (Donations Encouraged)
Through small group games and individual drills, work on soccer skills like dribbling, shooting, passing, and receiving.
Starting at 3PM at the Hyde Community Center:

* Two food trucks serving up delicious Caribbean flavors: Reggae Foods and Gourmet Kreyol

* Stretch out under the summer sky for an 8PM screening of Black Panther, the critically acclaimed box office delight that defines Black Excellence.
