Cooper Center: Like Water for Chocolate: Storytelling Program, Jun. 4

Like Water for Chocolate: Storytelling Program led by Karina Liendo will be held on Thursday, June 4 from 1:30PM to 2:30PM at the Cooper Center (345 Walnut Street, Newtonville).

Karina will present a series of stories, inspired by her grandmother, Angela, from Peru, who loved her family deeply and showed it through cooking. As in the novel Like Water for Chocolate, each story Karina presents will include a recipe related to an event in her life.

Karina will encourage audience members to share their stories about their grandparents while tasting traditional dishes or snacks from her grandmother’s kitchen. The event will conclude with Karina and participants singing and dancing to one of her favorite songs.

Karina Liendo, recognized as Karina Travel Connector, is an experienced world traveler dedicated to connecting individuals and locations through the creation and narration of stories. Karina has received professional storytelling training from the Escuela de Cuentacuentos in Madrid, Spain, and is certified as a facilitator. RSVP at 617-796-1660, or www.myactivecenter.com.
