The Allen Center (35 Webster St, West Newton) will be hosting Me2: “The Story Behind the Music” – A Brain Stories Podcast Experience on Thursday, May 21 at 7:00PM. This free live event will feature excerpts the podcast Brain Stories, a panel discussion with audience Q&A, curated music videos, and a reception. Panelists include Ronald Braunstein (Me2 Music Director & Conductor), Caroline Whiddon (Me2 Executive Director), and Frank Kosa (Producer & Host of Brain Stories).
The event brings to life the remarkable story of Ronald Braunstein, a Juilliard-trained conductor and Gold Medal winner at the Herbert von Karajan International Conducting Competition whose diagnosis of mental illness cost him his career — and ultimately inspired the creation of the Me2 Orchestra — the world’s only classical music organization created specifically for people living with mental illness and their allies.
Admission is free; tickets must be reserved in advance . Guests are invited to make a donation to support Me2 Orchestra at the event.
