Everyone is welcome to Newton’s first-ever public Eid-ul-Adha celebration on Saturday, May 30 from 11AM-3PM at Newton City Hall’s War Memorial (1000 Comm Ave, Newton Centre).
This is a free public event to experience the traditions of Eid hospitality celebrated across many cultures around the world. The afternoon will include family activities, henna, calligraphy, entertainment, food, and remarks by local leaders.
At a time when our country is experiencing polarization, hostility, and sadly even violence directed at different faith communities, this celebration will offer an opportunity to strengthen understanding, connection, and unity among neighbors and friends of all backgrounds.
